Hi everyone,
I sent out the latest bonus episode for founding members earlier today and was immediately bombarded with a whole load of new paid subscribers, which was of course lovely to see, but made me suspect that I had not been sufficiently clear in my email.
So! A clarification, plus the bonus episode below for paid subscribers as well as founding subscribers.
Substack offers two tiers of paid subscriptions: normal, and “founding.” The latter is designed to be more expensive.
On MMM, normal paid subscribers get – for $79 annually, or $8 monthly – an extra 30 minutes of bonus content on the end of episodes. Currently we’re releasing slightly more than one episode a week on average, and are working hard on increasing to two episodes a week. The more paid subscriptions we get, the more capacity I’ll have to pay my producers, Natasha and Billy, and so generate more episodes.
For $159 annually, founding members get all this plus weekly bonus episodes featuring me and my husband in conversation responding to listeners’ questions about sexual politics. All in all, we’re talking less than $2 per extra hour of content (decreasing to $1.50 once we can release two classic episodes a week), and every paid subscription – both normal and founding – makes an enormous difference to the MMM project.
Just this once, I’m going to share this week’s bonus episodes with paid subscribers, because I don’t want anyone to feel shortchanged!
