Hi all,
I’ll be giving birth in five weeks’ time and I have definitely reached the swollen, sore, and stupid stage of pregnancy. I had hoped to be able to keep up the schedule of two episodes per week during my maternity leave, plus occasional pieces of writing, but unfortunately morning sickness was followed swiftly by pneumonia, which was followed swiftly by wheelchair-grade pelvic girdle pain, so my health just hasn’t been good enough to make that happen.
Instead, MMM will drop down to one episode per week for six months from the beginning of August, consisting of:
Eighteen new episodes, including interviews with Tammy Peterson, Paul Kingsnorth, Bridget Phetasy, Ray Blanchard, Ross Douthat, Auron MacIntyre, and Meghan Daum.
Plus I’ll re-release six episodes from the early days of the podcast, with new intros (given how much the podcast has grown since we started, most of you probably won’t have listened to these interviews before).
Plus a paid subscriptions means that you can always listen back to the extended versions of old episodes. Some of the most popular to date are Helen Joyce on fan fiction, Tom Holland on ‘the Second Reformation’, Mary Harrington on the collapse of modernity, and Katie Herzog on the disappearance of lesbians.
My husband and I will also do our best to keep up with regular bonus episodes for founding members, but it may be difficult to find chunks of time when both of our children are asleep!
Given that there will be (just shy of) 32% fewer new MMM episodes over the next twelve months, I’m offering a 32% discount for anyone who signs up for a paid subscription:
In other happy news, the MMM bookclub (“Collapsetards Monthly”!!!) will be having its first meeting soon. More info from Zahira:
Our MMM book club (lovingly called "Collapsetards Monthly") is kicking off at the end of the month! This will be a monthly book club cycling through the various MMM themes (Gender / sex, civilisational cycles, Christianity, fertility, technology etc) via a mix of both fiction and non-fiction books. We will break three times a year for Christmas, Easter and summer, after which there will be a special "Theorycel" episode upon our return in which we discuss a pair of two books with opposing arguments or exploring the same theme. We will meet on the last Sunday of each month at 5pm UK time, which will be around midday in America, on the MMM Discord Book Club Voice Channel. To find the event, please find join our Discord server here: https://discord.gg/Me74vkMMKw . You can then find the event link on the #announcements page. The first book for August is Ivan Illich - Gender, and the full book schedule until May 2025 is posted in Discord.
Plus some opportunities for IRL meet-ups in London:
Some MMM listeners will be at an UnHerd event on the evening of Monday 7th October titled ‘Raising Children in the Culture Wars’. Pipe up on the MMM chat if you’re interested in joining them for dinner and drinks at the UnHerd restaurant afterwards.
MMM listeners will also be out in force at the Battle of Ideas Festival in Westminster over the weekend of 19/20 October.
Zahira is looking to organise a general meet-up at the Wellcome Collection cafe in Euston on a weekend in September or October – let her know on the MMM chat or Discord if you’re keen.
There will also be a Cambridge IRL meet-up soon, I’ll send out another newsletter with details on that. Details on all of these events can be found in the ‘Events’ section on Discord.
These events really do warm my heart, thank you so much everyone.

Honestly, a baby pic once a week would get my dopamine going as we Americans enter the final 99 days of our big Presidential election. :) For privacy, I'd even just take a zoomed in chubby elbow, or a finger over mom or dads finger, or a baby smile.
Good luck on baby #2. I went without pain meds for both my kids (my choice) and was startled how extremely different the labor was between them! Kid #2 solidifies anything you attribute to you on baby #1, ain't you. haha Genetics is wild.
Wow congrats!! I’m due in 6 weeks and pretty tickled that we’re due around the same time. The fact that you’re doing anything at all is impressive! One episode a week is plenty. Take it easy before the newborn onslaught 🥳
